Two top posts in J&K PHE, PDD lying vacant, consumers suffer | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 27: Two of the top most posts in Jammu and Kashmir Public Health, Engineering and Power Development Department are lying vacant since months adding woes to the grievances of the consumers, who are not being addressed timely. According to the sources in the department, two posts of Chief Engineer PDD and Chief Engineer PHE are lying vacant since months and are being looked after by the subordinate ranked officers with additional charges. The post of Chief Engineer is lying vacant since the Late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed soon after taking over the State Chair, ousted the deadwoods and corrupt officers,since then, it is being looked up by the Chief Engineer Irrigation, Rajeev Gandotra,sources said. Sources said the post of Chief Engineer PDD is also being taken care by an officer of Superintendent Rank Ashwani Gupta (SE Ciricle-I)."Gupta was given addition charge of the chair when the former Chief Engineer Ajay Gupta was reportedly attached by the former Deputy Chief Minister in Sayeeds regime, who had PDD portfolio to the State Power Development Corporation, It is unfortunate that since then, the government has failed to fill these posts, due to which people especially the rural belt is facing hardships as being in chair with additional charges, the officers are not able to do justice to either of their posts. The officers remain busy with the official work of both the departments due to which number of complaints and grievances are lying pending irking the consumers, sources added. However, the state went under Governor’s Rule on January 8 after the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed while various transfers and shuffling are left in limbo, sources maintained. |
