PDD disconnects 100 illegal connections in Bhaderwah, Doda | | | Early Times Report Bhaderwah, Jan 27: Continuing its drive against the power theft, Power Development Department (PDD) enforcement wing today disconnected about 100 illegal connections in different parts of Bhaderwah and Doda . According to official sources, on the directions of higher authorities of Power Development Department, a team of the Power Development Department officials led by AEE Bhaderwah Sanjeev Suman , AEE Doda Gopal Singh and Swarl Singh Manhas conducted surprise inspections in various parts of Doda and Bhaderwah and disconnected about 100 illegal connections. "Besides service lines, the team also seized heaters and other electrical gadgets being used illegally by the people, they added. They said, "PDD Officials have also warned those consuming power illegally to get proper connections from the department failing which action would be taken against them." When contacted, Executive Engineer Er Bishan Das said, "The State is already loosing huge revenue because of power thefts as such the inspection drive would be a regular exercise to put a check on power thefts." He also said that it is onus upon each and every citizen to get proper connection from the department and pay tariff as per actual consumption as illegal connections only make common masses to suffer in shape of the curtailments. He also appealed the people to get their illegal connections regularized. |
