Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 27: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress (JKPYC) today held a protest at Kathua demanding resignation of Union HRD Minister, Samriti Irani for her alleged role in the unfortunate incident of suicide of Rohith Vemula. According to press release, all the members were chanting slogans against Samriti Irani and Union Minister for Labour, Bandaru Dattatreya for their alleged role in the matter. The protest was led by Dr. Uma Shankar Pandey National Secretary of Indian Youth Congress and Incharge JKPYC and Pranav Shagotra of President PYC. Speaking on the occasion Dr.Uma Shanker Pandey lambasted both the ministers in alleged involvement in the suicide case of a Dalit scholar of Hyderabad University. He said that Samriti Irani misrepresented the facts in order to mislead the nation over the issue which is evident by the resignation of team of Professors, from their administrative posts, to protest over the 'fabricated' statements of Irani. Pranav Shagotra criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi to shelter the tainted ministers and BJP leaders. He also said that Dattatreya should be booked for abetment of suicide and also for violation of the SC/ST Atrocities Act. Other youth congress leaders who participated in protest were Anirudh Khajuria, Sanjiv Mathur, Dalveer Sethi, Yaseer Khan, Parvin Kumar, Pawan Sharma, Vishu Andotra, Parvesh Sharma, Vivek Sharma, Varun Sharma, Jevan Jyoti. |
