Katra police busts interstate gang of thieves, works out theft cases, five held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 17: Bhawan Police at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Katra of district Reasi claimed to have worked out theft cases and recovered stolen items with the arrest of five accused including two receivers ( who purchased mobiles from thieves) hailing from outside the state. According to police spokesperson, the accused have been identified as Jaspal Singh@ Bhatti s/o Kuljeet Singh of 2815 Mahan Singh Gate Amritsar Punjab, Ashwani Kumar@Sonu s/o Ganga Ram R/O Galli No. 10 Sunder Nagar Amritsar Punjab who were found to be the receivers of stolen mobiles. Others have been identified as Deepak Kumar@ Dina @Sanjay (35) s/o Sunder Lal r/o Devnath Pur Lal Gang -Azamgarh UP, Anil Kumar @ Ajeet Age (22) s/o Ram Saran r/o 10 Salkhua Mansi Gorakhpur UP A/P Delhi E 141 Galli No 7 Parparh Ganj New Delhi and Vijay Kumar @ Kaka (54) s/o Ajeet Kumar r/o Vill. Gurah P.O Khaas Teh. & distt. Jallandhar (Punjab) "Acting on the complaint of Yatries regarding that their belongings including Mobile Phones, Camera and some cash stands stolen from the lockers of Cloak Room, police spokesperson said. He said, "On this Case FIR No. 07/2015 U/S 380 RPC and 02/2016 U/S 380 RPC were registered and process of Investigation started by Bhawan Police." "During Investigation, Bhawan Police came to know that one Mobile stands operated in Amritsar (Punjab). On this vital clue, a Police team was constituted by SSP Reasi and deputed to Punjab to nab the culprits, police said. Police added that after making hectic and fruitful efforts, Police team succeeded in apprehending two accused from Amritsar Punjab who were found to be the receivers of stolen mobiles. "On their sustained Interrogation and disclosure made by them, three main accused who were instrumental in committing thefts in Bhawan area were also arrested," police said. Police added that during the sustained questioning of these three accused the stolen items including 12- Mobiles, One Canon Camera, one Wrist Watch (Fast track), Laptop Company ASUS (Which they have stolen from Ambala) were recovered upon their disclosures. Police said, "The accused revealed that under a well planned modus operandi, they use to visit Bhawan with the intention to make thefts and they use to take lockers from Shrine Board officials manning lockers." After taking locks alongwith original Key they use to lock that lockers and take the said key alongwith them with the intention to make duplicate key. After10-15 days they again came alongwith duplicate key and make it deposit to Shrine Board Employees and kept close Eyes on Shrine Board Employees that to whom the same lock has been issued. After that they use that duplicate key to open the Lockers and decamp with belongings of the Yatries. During further Investigation it has also been found that this was Gang of Inter State Professionals thieves who are committing thefts at Religious and Public places like Railway Station, Bus stand etc. They were also stand convicted in Case FIR No. 19/2009 U/S 379 RPC and after completing Imprisonment for three years, again organised themselves for committing thefts. "More vital clues and involvement of insiders as well as local contact can't be ruled out, police said, adding, "their arrest can lead to solving of many cases and incidents of theft particularly at Bhawan and other Police Station of District Reasi. Meanwhile investigation is under progress and some more recoveries are expected, police spokesperson said. |
