Early Times Report

Sunderbani, Feb17: The taller claims of the erstwhile BJP-PDP coalition boasting of having brought the striking changes in the education department while streamlining the system seem to have fallen flat.
Many of the incidents are in vogue in the system where education department can be brought into questioning for having ruined the structure while throwing the norms to the winds.
One such striking incident occurs at Baranada village of Sunderbani in Rajouri where a female candidate who had left her native place 25 years ago comes back to claim a ReT engagement while challenging the appointment of the other who had been enrolled by the department as the teacher in government middle school Barnada.
Neelam Sharma wife of Rakesh Sharma of Barnada who had left her native place 25 years ago filed a writ in the court against one Asha Sharma wife of Vijay Kumar of Barnada who was offered a teacher post under ReT.
Neelam, though not have filled an application for the post, claimed that she was the rightful candidate for the post and thus filed a writ against her .
The case when reviewed by the sub division magistrate Rajouri was found to be heavy weighted in favour of Asha Sharma.
This again promoted Neelam Sharma to approach DC Rajouri who gain favoured Asha Sharma to be the right candidate.
Neelam thereafter approached the High Court Jammu with a stay against her appointment which was done in 2011-12.
The High Court after reviewing the case for nearly four years dismissed her plea and found Asha Sharma the right candidate for the post .
The order of the judgement of the HC was then issued to Director Education Jammu and other copies forwarded to SDM Rajouri and DC Rajouri.
The stay also got vacated in the favour of Aasha Sharma on 29th September 2015.
The irony of the case is that despite the HC order, the Director Education Smita Sethi did not care to implement the order and has been shying away from doing the needful.
When asked she said that she had not received the file and also gave lame excuse about many files putting up pending in the department for the disposal.
The Early Times reporter when produced the documentary evidences to the Director through Whatssapp messages , she even refused to acknowledge to have seen the documents.
"Director is a high headed woman who enjoys the patronage and privilege of being in close liaison with the ministers and other bureaucratic high ups and even keeps the power to deny HC orders. She has done this in many cases to appease some and disgruntle others," sources in the department said.
Till date no action has been initiated against her.
