Eight months later, Court seeks status report in murder case at Satwari PS | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 17: Eight months after killing of a youth during the protests by people at Satwari allegedly in police firing, a competent court has now sought status report of the case from SHO of Satwari police station. Not satisfied with police investigation in the case, a social organisation had moved court seeking action against the guilty. The court also sought the position of FIR No 112/2015 which was registered at Satwari police station under section 302 of RPC against police constable Mukesh Saini who had allegedly opened fire, resulting in the death of a youth. Pertinently, the protests which started in first week of June 2015 had turned violent and curfew was imposed in Ranibagh area of Satwari after the killing of a youth in police firing on stone pelters. Three civilians and three policemen including a sub inspector were also injured in the clashes. The protesters, who were demanding SHO's suspension, were pacified after the government had assured a magisterial probe and SSP, Jammu, Uttam Chand had proceeded on leave. Chand was later reinstated as SSP Jammu despite large scale resentment from a Sikh organizations. |
