Kathua, Feb 17: A youth of village Garnari was allegedly beaten to pulp allegedly by the Rajbagh police.
The victim youth is at present under treatment in GMC hospital. The victim has been identified as Ganesh Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, r/o village Garnari, Marheen.
Speaking to Early Times, the family members of the youth alleged that when he went to the police station Rajbagh to lodge FIR against some assailants, the police in return thrashed him.
"The only fault of my brother is that he went to police station Rajbagh to lodge FIR against the assailants", Shyam said.
Family members alleged that Ganesh went to police after he and his mother were attacked by a group of miscreants, but instead of taking legal course, policemen started beating him.
Ganesh was later admitted in the sub district hospital Hiranagar,from where he was referred to the GMC hospital for advance treatment.
Meanwhile, SSP Kathua Neeva Jain when contacted refused to comment on the issue. |
