Kathua, Feb 17: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, illegal smuggling of liquor from other States, the J&K Excise Department has intensified raids/ checking of various locations and 525 kilo grams of Lahan and ten pouches of illicit liquor which were destroyed on the spot.
According to spokesperson, under the active supervision of Excise Commissioner, J&K T Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, Excise Team Kathua under the command of ETO, Sandeep and ETO, Eradication, Suresh raided the Veersochak and Sunjwan area of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation.
During the raids the excise team recovered over 525 kilo grams of Lahan and ten pouches of illicit liquor, which was destroyed by the team on spot. |
