Bovine smuggling bid foiled, one held | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 17: In continuation to drive launched against bovine smugglers, the Kathua Police today rescued 12 bovine animals with arrest of one bovine smuggler. Police said, "The accused (driver of the vehicle) has been identified as Murad Ali s/o Teg Ali Gujjar r/o Julaki Mohalla Meen Sarkar near Sarore Bridge Bari Brahamana , District Samba". "On a specific information in the intervening night of 16/17, at about 0300AM, a police party of Police Station Kathua laid a naka at Palli Morh and intercepted one 1109 HE TATA Vehicle with Regd No HP38C 7349." Police spokesperson said "During search of vehicle police found 12 bovine animals loaded in it and when driver of vehicle failed to produce any authorized document for the transportation of animals and arrested the driver of vehicle for illegally transporting the bovine animals. "All the bovine animals were rescued, while driver was arrested and vehicle too was seized. A case under FIR No. 70/2016 U/S 188 RPC, 3/22 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Kathua against the accused and further investigations are on. |
