DC Kishtwar takes stock of people's problems in Paddar
Work on Gulabgard-Machail road to be taken on top priority

Kishtwar, Feb 17:- With an aim to take stock of problems of people in the remote Paddar area of Kishtwar, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan conducted an extensive tour to Paddar area of District and held a series of interactive session with the locals.
Responding to demands of locals, DC Kishtwar said under the Phase second of RGGVY and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) the un electrified habitations of Paddar will be electrified soon. He also informed that a 33KV transmission line will be soon provided to the Gulbagarh Grid station which is non functional presently in absence of sufficient voltage supply to it.
During his visit, sarpanches , panchas and locals apprised the visiting official about the difficulties faced by locals in absence of sufficient medical staff particularly female Doctor at Gulabgarh and Sub centre Ungai and lack of essential medicines in Government Health institutions added that in medical emergencies it becomes difficult to transport the patient to the Kishtwar District Hospital from the remote area which mostly remain cut off due to bad weather conditions.
Responding to queries from locals about water supply, DC Kishtwar informed that water supply scheme for village Liyae will be restored within 15 days.
DC Kishtwar also issued on spot instructions to fisheries department restoration of old ponds for housing the fish culture. He also reviewed progress of Machail-Paddar road and asked PMGSY to start the held up work on immediate basis besides PWD was directed to complete Atholi -Gulabgarh road along with bridges on the priority.
District Officers of Animal and Sheep husbandry Departments were further directed to conduct the awareness camps in the Paddar area. Chief Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to identify land for the yak breeding centre sanctioned for the area.
Meanwhile BDO Paddar was directed to rationalize the IAY claims after proper verifications on the ground. ALC Kishtwar also educated the masses about various schemes pertaining to Labour Department and appealed to the people to avail benefits from these Schemes.
Informing the people that area had about 70% Aadhar enrolement, DC said that District administration has flagged off a special National Population registrar(NPR) mobile van from District headquarters with a purpose to capture the biometrics and to create awareness about the enrolment. The biometric Van fully equipped with biometric capturing machine along with technical staff shall work w.e.f. Feb-15- 26.
CPO Kishtwar Dr Yasir Balwan, ACD Kishtwar Akhtar Hussain Qazi, Xen PDD and other District Officers accompanied DC during the tour.
