Jammu, Feb 17: The employees and workers from PHE, Irrigation, Flood Control and several other departments held strong protest demonstration outside the office of Divisional Commissioner at Rail Head Complex here today.
A large number of temporary employees including daily wagers, need base, ITI and CP workers under the banner of All Department Jammu and Kashmir Workers Coordination Committee, assembled outside Divisional Commissioner's office and started protest demonstration followed by day long dharna.
Led by Satish Sharma and others, the agitating workers were shouting slogans in support of their demands. They also raised slogans against the previous Governments for ignoring their genuine issues. They were demanding framing of a policy for the regularization of all type of daily wagers, need base and CP workers who were engaged after 1994.
Several trade unions also addressed the gathering and urged upon the State Governor to intervene and issue necessary directions to the concerned officers. Prominent among them included Sajjad Ahmed Parray, Rakesh Kumar and Rajan Sharma. |
