Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 17: Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today said the responsibility of the administration has increased in the absence of an elected government and urged the officials to provide "clean and efficient services" to the people.
"You are all senior and experienced functionaries and have increased responsibilities when an elected government is not in place. It is, therefore, your duty to provide clean, efficient and be acceptable to the people," the Governor said, while chairing a high-level review meeting of officers at the Civil Secretariat here.
Vohra said he met people from various walks of life who complained about the difficulties faced by them.
"It is our duty to plug all the loopholes and resolve all problems on time-bound bases," he said, adding, "people have high expectations and we should not let them down. We must show better performance on all fronts.
He urged them to ensure punctuality in attendance of all staff and their working in a completely professional manner.
