SOS International holds rally, alleges BJP deceives PoK DPs
2/21/2016 11:49:57 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21: SOS International - An organization for PoK Displaced Persons organized a rally at Maheshpura Chowk, Jammu. The rally was part of monthly meetings held on Sunday of every month at various parts of Jammu.
Addressing the rally, SOS International Chairman, Rajiv Chuni lambasted Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for keeping on deceptive tactics towards PoK DPs, adding that he had a lot of expectations from Prime Minister Modi but he also turned antagonistic to PoK DPs as he announced only Rs 2000 crores instead of proposed Rs 9096 crores by previous State Cabinet of NC-Congress Coalition.
"Even Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) unanimously recommended worth Rs 30 lakhs per PoK DPs family as Committee felt Rs 25 lakhs per family not enough. But, unfortunately BJP led Government in centre ignored both i.e. resolution of J&K State cabinet and recommendations of JPC. BJP led Central Government neither cared for State Cabinet's resolution nor JPC's recommendations but on the contrary, it unilaterally announced a meager amount which has mounted the pain of PoK DPs.
"Before Assembly and Parliamentary elections, BJP had begun "Refugee Adhikar Yatra" starting from Poonch to Kathua led by then State BJP President and present Member of Parliament from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma and promised if the BJP comes to power in centre as well as state, the much awaited justice will be provided to PoK DPs" he added. He stated that now, it has been more than 2 years in the centre and almost 1 year in the state since BJP has been in power but the promises made under the slogan of "Refugee Adhikar Yatra" seems nowhere in sight and it is clear that it was a trick to swindle innocent PoK DPs to grab their votes as BJP knew that PoK DPs have a very vast vote bank.
He further said the way PoK DPs are being treated is shameful on the part of BJP Government and PoK DPs are not going to tolerate it anymore. The time has come when every PoK DP will stand and fight for his/her right" he stated. He also said that if the central Government hesitates to take decision within 30 days for the welfare of PoK DPs, then S. O. S. International will be left with no option to launch a decisive battle against BJP led Government.
