Tehsildar gives one month notice to encroachers to vacate state land

Kishtwar, Feb 21 : Tehsildar Drabshala Suman Sharma has issued a notice to over 650 persons who have illegally occupied the state land across 36 Revenue Villages of Tehsil Drabshala and has directed them to vacate the land measuring 6223 Kanal and 3 Marlas which is under their illegal occupation.
As per the details available with "Early Times", Tehsildar Drabshala as Assistant Collector First Class under State Revenue Act issued eviction notice to all the encroachers vide No. 1256/OQ/TD and directed them to vacate the encroached state land within one month, following which legal action will be initiated as warranted under law against the land encroachers/land grabbers. The notices were issued on directions of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan. "In order to restore the encroached State Land, I Tehsildar Drabshala acting in capacity of Assistant Collector First Class, order these unauthorized occupants/encroachers (29 page list) of the state land to vacate the encroached state land within a period of one month from the date of issuance of this notice" read Tehsildar Drabshala eviction notification added that the notice along with the list of the encroachers has also been supplied to each field Patwari for immediate intimation to the occupants by utilizing the services of Lambardars and Chowkidars. In addition to issuing the eviction notice to Patwari's, Tehsildar Drabshala also directed for pasting of the eviction notice and the list of the encroachers at the apparent site in the premises of the Tehsildar Office and at conspicuous places in the villages of the Tehsil Drabshala, beside also directed for organizing a drum beating to this effect for general information to the people. When contacted DC Kishtwar confirmed that Tehsildar Drabshala had issued eviction notice to the encroachers who had encroached the state land at various places in the Tehsil Drabshala added that the state land identified by Tehsildar Drabshala is the state land other then the land transferred on the name of beneficiaries under State Roshni Act.
He said that there is zero tolerance towards encroachment of state land added that district administration would take stern legal action against those who were involved in encroaching of state land anywhere in district Kishtwar. He said that other Tehsildars of District Kishtwar had also been directed to identified the land encroachers in their respective jurisdictions so that action could be initiated against those involved in grabbing state land.
