During their meeting with the JKPCC General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra, the people of Jammu East Constituency highlighted various problems being faced by them. They alleged that no development work is being executed in the Jammu East Constituency since the formation of PDP-BJP government and even after it seized to exist following the sudden demise of the then Chief Minister, Mufti Mohd Sayeed in January last. The people informed the JKPCC leader that the streets have been uprooted in every nook and corner of the Jammu East Constituency due to which they are facing huge difficulty. Besides, a group of local contractors also called on the JKPCC General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra, who alleged that no development work is being undertaken or assigned by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) authorities to them at present, as they said that they are being ignored for unknown reasons, where as the blue-eyed contractors, who have influence in the Corporation, get contracts sanctioned in their favour. After listening to the aggrieved people and the contractors, the JKPCC General Secretary, he expressed serious concern over the prevailing mess in the JMC and condemned the previous PDP-BJP government for ignoring the most genuine public issues. He also urged the related government departments of PWD and PHE to look into the difficulties of people of Jammu East Constituency and resolve the same at the earliest possible. The JKPCC leader also flayed the JMC authorities for adopting different yardsticks in assigning the works to the contractors. He urged the concerned department to not to take them as far-granted and shun this wrong approach otherwise they will be forced to launch an agitation and consequences thereupon would be the responsibility of the JMC. |
