Srinagar, Feb 21: Spreading awareness about basics of finance and banking across the state, J&K Bank conducted various camps which were supported by NABARD. Baramulla Camps Collaborating with the bank's Business Unit (Block Pattan), the bank's Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling center Baramulla organized an awareness camp at Government Girls Middle School Ganaipora in Buran Pattan. A large number of people mostly farmers and students from the village and its adjacent areas attended the camp. Officers from Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Rural Self Employment and Training Institute and Lead District Manager Baramulla also participated in the camp. Facilitator FLCC Baramulla informed the audience about the basics of financial planning, savings, and advantages of savings with banks besides documents for opening of accounts under KYC norms. He explained in detail the Prime Ministers Jhan Dhan Yojna which is meant for comprehensive coverage of all the financially excluded households in the country. The facilitator discussed with the audience the vision, mission and the benefits of the PMJDY scheme. Besides, the audience was apprised about, PM SBY, PM Mudra Yojna, Atal Pension Yojna and the audience was requested to enroll themselves through their saving bank accounts to get benefited under these schemes. He also spoke about Electronic Benefit Funds Transfer (RTGS & NEFT). Lead District Manager Baramulla, Head BU Pattan, officers from various government departments also spoke on the occasion besides a faculty member from RSETI Baramulla. Similar camp was conducted earlier at RSETI Sopore. In association with FLCC Budgam, the bank's BU Lolipora organized a financial literacy camp at Farhadpora (Buzgoo) in Chadoora. A good number of people from the area attended the camp wherein they were apprised in detail about the various government sponsored schemes like PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY, JLG besides KCC, education loans and dastkar loan schemes. The participants were informed about the interest subvention of additional 3% provided by the RBI to those farmers who repay their KCC loanswithin one year of disbursement/drawals. Women folk present in the camp were informed about the handloom/handicraft schemes. The personnel from RSETI Budgam spoke on the occasion and the forms for training at RSETI were distributed during programme. Earlier, a similar camp was organized by the bank's BU Khaag in collaboration with FLCC Budgam. A well-attended awareness camp was organized at Gund Hassi Bhat by the bank's local business unit. The officials informed the participants about various schemes like PM Jhan Dhan Yojna, PM Mudra Yojna, Atal Pension Yojna, PMSBY and PMJJBY in detail. Forms of such schemes were distributed on spot and people were urged to take full advantage of the insurance schemes. Meanwhile, the bank's BU Kalibari in district Kathua conducted a financial literacy camp at village Sahar in Kathua which was attended by a large number of locals. The speakers informed the audience about various government schemes like PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY, APY and PMMY. |
