ARTO sends challans at home over traffic violation

DODA, Feb 22: Tightening noose around traffic rules violators, authorities at Assistant Regional Transport Office,Doda here have started sending challans to the erring persons at their home addresses.
According to press release, officials said the development would reduce the traffic violations and help in smooth regulation of traffic here in Bhaderwah and Doda .A senior ARTO official informed that around dozen challans were sent to violators and fine recovered from them for various violations.
"Next time anyone is caught committing a traffic violation, he must not even think of fibbing his way through. Authorities may have photographic evidence of committing of the violation as digital cameras catch violations of traffic norms," said the official.
Confirming the development, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Azhar Zargar said in a bid to reduce the number of traffic rule violations, the effort would continue."We want safety of people, both, drivers and pedestrians.
