Army reaches out to unemployed youth, holds welding course | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Kishtwar Feb 22: The army held a welding camp for the unemployed youth of Kishtwar, Thatri to enable them to earn a honourqble livelihood. As per the details available with "Early Times", in order to reach out to the unemployed youths of Kishtwar and Thathri. 8 RR under the leadership of Commandant Rajpal Singh with an aim towards creation of self employment opportunities for youth in the age group of 18 to 25 held a welding camp today. The said welding cadre will run for a duration of two weeks from 22 February to 07 march 2016 at Thatri and Kishtwar in which total 50 local unemployed youth will be benefited under the operation Sadbhavna project on termination of the cadre proficiency certificates will be given to all the participants. Such an initiative by the arm belongingness and responsibility amongst the youth which will greatly help in generating self employment. While inaugurating the training by Commander 9 sector RR Bragadier Ashit Bajpai hailed the role of Indian army towards the public welfare initiatives and termed this opportunity as golden chance for unemployed youths for moving forward towards earning their livelihood. He said that small scale industrialization is the order of the day for development in this region added that such course will definitely assist in providing self employment as a source of income for the unemployed youth of the area which is indeed a small step towards prosperity. District Social Welfare officer Phulail Singh Bandral and parents of the beneficiaries were also present on this occasion who highly appreciated the army's efforts and requested the army officials to undertake such projects on regular basis. Commander also interacted with women folk who were given training in various handicraft and handloom preparation with the help of District Social Welfare Department and hailed the goods prepared by them. Commander Ashit Bajpai also held a detail discussion with District Social Welfare Officer with regard to bringing more and more females of the District in the ambit of providing them training in various trades so that their economic condition could be improved, beside also discussed the means of promoting the products prepared by these females in the state and national market. District Social Welfare Officer Phulail assured all possible support to army in organizing such programs in future by way of involving more and more poor females towards job oriented course. |
