BSF jawan among two injured in landmine blasts | | | Early Times Report SAMBA/POONCH, Feb 22: Two persons including a BSF head constable were critically injured when they inadvertently stepped over land mines in forwards areas in Poonch and Samba respectively here today. Police sources said, "A 22 year-old youth lost his one foot when he accidentally stepped over a landmine at Poonch Line of Control (LoC). "The victim has been identified as Mohd Aarif son of Mohammad Hussain of village Baghal Bhara at Poonch, they said, adding, "Mohd Aarif was injured while grazing his cattle in forward area at around 1: 45 pm accidently stepped over a land mine which might have washed away due to recent rains." Sources said that he was immediately shifted to nearby hospital by the Army and later after preliminary referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for specialized meducare. According to doctors authorities his right foot got damaged in the incident. Meanwhile, one Head Constable Ujhan Bara of 9th Battalion of (BSF) of Jharkhand sustained injured when he accidentally stepped over a land mine in forward Border out Post (B0P) in Samba. The critically injured head constable after preliminary treatment was immediately referred to GMC&H for advance treatment. |
