'Restive Valley standing on nervous of Jammu, Ladakh' | Re-organise unnatural State | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 26: Process of radicalisation in the Valley proper, which doesn't constitute even 5 per cent of the land area of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), is almost over. The Valley proper is the main trouble-spot in Kashmir. It's den of anti-India activities, besides being the land of highly rich, prosperous and powerful people having connections at right places in and outside J&K, and even in rest of the world. It is densely populated and all the towns and villages in the area are well-connected and easily accessible. It houses almost 80 per cent of the Kashmir's population, mostly Sunni Muslims. The offices of all separatists and mainstream Kashmiri leaders are situated in Srinagar, the heart of Valley proper. That's why it is also the area of their influence and activities. It is also Srinagar and the areas surrounding it where the main religious places, including ancient shrines and mosques, are situated. The point is that separatists and mainstream Kashmiri leaders exploit the gullible Kashmiri Muslims of the Valley proper to promote their own selfish interests by preaching hatred against India and the Indian Constitution. And this has been going on since October 1947 itself, when J&K acceded to India in terms of law on the subject. What happened in the Valley proper during all these years of accession is too well-known and has been well-documented and, hence, no need to reflect on the politics of competitive secessionism and communalism the Valley proper witnessed. Suffice to say that all the Kashmiri leaders didn't leave any stone unturned to create a high wall of hatred between the Kashmiri Muslims and the rest of the Indians or the Indian nation as a whole. The worst of the whole situation is that the people of Jammu and Ladakh have been suffering since 1947. It is time New Delhi recognised the ground realities in the different regions of the State and deal with them separately so that the people of Jammu and Ladakh are empowered to manage their own political, administrative, social and economic affairs and lead a dignified life. One thing is clear: The Valley proper's politics do not suit Jammu and Ladakh, and hence, segregate Valley proper from the State once and for all. |
