Jammu, Feb 26 : The NSS Unit of Dogra College of Education inaugurated its seven days awareness camp comprising of 90 NSS volunteers from February 26 to March 3 in village Chak Jaralan, Bishnah, Jammu as per the guidelines of the University of Jammu. The camp was inaugurated by the village Sarpanch Jatinder Singh at Bharat Bhoomi Public School amid the presence of Principal Dogra College Of Education, NSS Programme Officer, NSS volunteers and the villagers. The function started with the lighting of the lamp followed by saraswati vandana presented by NSS volunteers. Renu Sharma Programme officer NSS Unit of the college presented the welcome address wherein she motivated the volunteers to put their maximum efforts for the upliftment of the society. She also mentioned the main activities to be executed by the NSS volunteers during the upcoming days which included socio economic survey, cleanliness drive, awareness rally, Blood Donation Camp, Literacy Programme, Yoga Exercises, and Plantation Drive. Earlier Shefali Sharma, Principal of the college in her address said that the motto of the national Service Scheme is "Not Me But You" which expresses the essence of Democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the others' point of view. She further stressed that it should be the main objective of the NSS volunteers to demonstrate this Moto in their day to day activities of the camp. |
