Jammu, Feb 26 : Awareness campaign on Mother- Child Health and Mission Indradhanush which was launched by of Union Health Ministry today held at Jammu in which Jammu and Kashmir region has been identified six high priority districts from August 2015 to December 2015. According to press release, the function was presided over by N. Gulshan Raina, Programme Head, DFP, J&K Region, whereas Bharti Vaid, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau, Government of India, J & K was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Baldev Sharma, Director, Family Welfare, was the guest of honour whereas Dr. Mohd Shafi, State Nodal Officer, National Health Mission J amuu and Kashmir chapter was special guest. In India 330 high priority districts identified in which Jammu and Kashmir region has six, where Mother and Infant Motility Rate is higher and immunization rate against seven preventable killer diseases is below 50 percent. During the said intensive awareness campaign throughout the length and breadth of the nation DFP has to organize 2340 grand awareness programmes for the mobilization and sensitization of the masses especially at the grass root level. While interacting with the Officers Bharti Vaid, ADG, PIB underlined the importance of such Mega awareness Campaigns and appreciated the role of Directorate of Field Publicity which has initiated such programmes and reached at gross level to educate and aware masses in general and the populace of these six districts in particular about the provision and benefits of these national health schemes and programmes. |
