Jammu, Mar 11: Former Member of legislative Council (MLC) Ravinder Sharma and chief Spokesman Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has expressed serious concern over the failure of the central Govt. to consider the demand for withdrawal of duty on jewellery items, as a result the poor people would face great difficulty to offer small gifts to their daughters at the time of marriage. Accoding to press release, Sharma said that poor people would be worst sufferers of this Tax on the jewellery items and extended full support to the cause of people agitation on this issue. He said that the poor sections of the society would be worst hit, as they offer some Jewellary items to their daughters as a part of ceremony as a token of love and affection and security to their daughters during marriage. He demanded withdrawal of this tax immediately. |
