MLAs become 'irrelevant' | Governor calls shots, people forget Govt formation | | Majid Nabi Early Times Report Srinagar, Mar11: The role of Governor's administration after the demise of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has rendered the elected representatives "irrelevant", as people are hailing the role of Governor NN Vohra. People seem least bothered about whether PDP would form the government with BJP or not as the Governor singlehandedly has taken the burden of state affairs on his shoulders and has made the officials deliver . People who cast their votes for peace and stability of the state have appreciated the performance of Governor Vohra and believe that they are in safe hands. A well-known political analyst while talking to 'Early Times' said that the public outcry over certain issues has reduced to a very large extent after the Governor took the control of the state. "There is a visible difference between elected government and direct control of the central government in the state. People who were criticizing every move of the former regime have now realized the pro people strategy of the Governor, even if there would be no government I don't think it makes any big difference now," added he. He said that the Governor administration has not only won the confidence of people has but also delicately dealt with the issues they are facing in their day to day life. "What combine government could not do in 10 months , Governor succeeded to do in mere two months duration? There are certain issues which are yet to be resolved however the way Governor with his team of Advisors intelligently managed to run state affairs seems state may touch the new heights," he said. From power to ration people in Jammu and Kashmir specially Kashmir valley were always up in arms against every successive regime for its alleged incompetence to deal with the issues, though the antagonism after the Governor took the charge diminished to great extent. "Till the month of January people were on roads against unscheduled power cutoffs, lack of essential commodities, water and poor road conditions but the way Governor not only streamlined the entire system but also magically calm down anger brewing among the masses," Arshid Hussain a local said. He said that the successive regimes have always been concerned about their own interests but the Governor tamed the black sheep and made them work.. |
