Early Times Report jammu, Mar 11: In contravention of its own policy, the Directorate of School Education is affecting transfers before the month of April-May and that too without clear posting for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities. In an attempt to avoid hue and cry over the irrational transfers, single orders are being issued for each individual while the adjustments are not made vice particular post but against the longest stay. As the persons having longest stay are ought to be disturbed without clarity on their further posting, the situation is encouraging middlemen and agents in the School Education Department, which is virtually heading towards the era of then Education Minister Tara Chand and his Deputy PRO Kewal Sharma. According to the sources, a number of such transfer orders have been issued by the Director School Education during the last two months of the Governor's rule in the State. Three officials, including a Section Officer and two teachers, posted in the Directorate, are believed to be the main players behind this new modus operandi of forcing people to look for middlemen in order to getting adjustments managed, sources explained. While these transfer orders are being issued on personal grounds, such as retirement of the official in next few months or domestic reasons, a number of others attached in the schools and office of the Chief Education Officer, are still running from pillar to post for their adjustment. Pertinent to mention that the recently announced transfer policy in the School Education Department clearly mentions that the transfers in Summer zone would be affected only in the month of April-May, that too against clear vacancy. It may be recalled that during the time of Tara Chand as Education Minister, there was a similar trend of affecting transfers against longest stay thus giving an option to the person, being dislocated, for getting his/her further adjustment managed through agents. |
