PHE daily wagers protest, submits memorandum to DDC Doda

Doda, Mar 11: The need based workers and casual labourers of PHE under the banner of J&K National Trade Union Front held protest demonstration here today in support of their demands and also submitted a memorandum of demands to DDC Doda.
Protestors assembled near SE PHE Doda staged protest to highlight their demands especially those who have been engaged in lieu of land. After staging protest they submitted a memorandum of demands to DDC Doda
Earlier addressing the protesters President Causal /Need Based PHE Empolyees Union engaged in lieu of Land, Pritam Singh Kotwal expressed concerns over the pendency of wages for two years. He also said that many people in Jammu region who had offered their agriculture land for the PHE tanks, filtration plants and pumping stations etc to the Department and their one member was also engaged as casual/ need base worker but all such workers are without wages for the last two years. He reminded that they were engaged by the SE (Hyd) Doda on 3/4/2012 vide order No. 30/PW/Hyd of 2012 in lieu of their lands acquired by the Department unfortunately their wages yet have not been released.
Vice President of the Union Mohd Shafi and other speakers warned the government to redress their issue by March 20, otherwise daily wagers whose land had been acquired by PHE Department would start protests across Jammu region.
Ahmed Zargar, Bilal Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed, Kamal Singh and Majeed Parrey also addressed the protestors.
