| JAMMU, Mar 11: 20 Ice Hockey Women players and one trainer hailing from Leh District have been selected by Ice Hockey Association of India New Delhi to represent India in Asia Challenge Cup scheduled to be held at Taipei, China from 22-26th March 2016. The selected girls have approached Governor for J&K for financial assistance as girls are belonging to poor families. On the recommendations of J&K State Sports Council and Administrative Department, the Advisor was pleased to approve financial assistance towards 50% air fare cost and kit/pocket money to the extent of Rs. 5,000/- each from J&K State Sports Council as a token of gesture and encouragement to the women team. |
