Jammu, Mar 12 : In the backdrop of JNU controversy, Vice-Chancellor of Central University, Jammu, Prof Ashok Aima today said the liberty should not be ''misused''.''Freedom of speech and expression cannot be curbed but it should not be misused at the cost of nation's interest," Prof Aima told mediapersons at a press conference here this afternoon organised to brief on activities undertaken by the institution in 2015. The academician said, "liberty should not be 'misused' while country's interest and security always comes first." On measures being taken by the faculty in the Central University, Jammu so that JNU like incidents do not take place, Prof Aima asserted, "we always keep counselling our students and educate them besides providing them a very friendly and cooperative environment."Asserting that his dream is to make CU Jammu as highly dynamic institution, he added that around 15 MoUs have also been signed with various universities to make it one of the most prestigious in the coming years."One of the important MoUs, first of its kind across the country is signed between CUs Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Jammu is to exchange faculty and students to develop better coordination and strengthen regional ties. "He however, said this session's admissions will begin from March 14 till April 15 for various courses, adding, "presently the CU is being run at Sainik Colony based Campus office but will completely be shifted to the village Bagla, Raya Suchani, district Samba. |
