ANC demands proper ration supply | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 12 : Tall claims of BJP-PDP that implementation of the NFSA in J&K will solve all the problems of people covered by the Public Distribution System (PDS) network has infact created food crisis in state. This was stated by Awami National Conference (ANC) Provincial President, S. Gian Singh while reacting to serious ration shortage in state. Singh expressing shock over present food crisis said that the rations meant for rural areas never reach the targeted population because the commodities are sold in the open market for further sale in black market due to shortage of rations in the state. The people falling in the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category never receive their share of rations because of careless attitude of the concerned authorities, who hesitate in footing the bills for free transportation of the rations. Singh asked the government to go deeper into the problems afflicting the CAPD's PDS network and make corrections so that benefits reach the targeted population. |
