JAMMU, March 29: Residents of Jammu and other adjoining areas are up in arms against the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department for providing wheat instead of flour. A glance at the ration depot on the outskirts of Jammu city reveals that that wheat provided at the depots is lying there as they have to "grind this wheat and get the flour," sources informed. Ration dealers alleged that CAPD has cheated them as they had deposited the money for flour and they were provided wheat instead. In wake of protests by the people and ration government should wake up from slumber and "chalk out a strategy" in larger interest of the consumers". It is pertinent to mention her that as per old scale Government use to give 10 kg flour bag for Rs 85. Now the wheat is being provided at the same rate and they have to pay extra money for grinding it. Despite repeated attempts, Director CAPD G S Chib didn't pick up the phone. |
