Jammu, Mar 29: The deep nexus of the Assistant/Associate professors in the administration has reflected in the recent order of their transfer issued by the department of higher education as influential have managed to stick on to over staffed city colleges while peripheral colleges have been struggling scarcity of staff.
Though, majority of peripheral colleges have been running under acute dearth of staff but Higher Education department transferred some Assistant/Associate professors-reportedly influential-giving them choicest postings, raising eyebrows of those faculty members, who are either overstaying in far flung colleges or those colleges' administration having negligible staff and are waiting for permanent faculty.
Government Degree College (GDC) Gool, GDC Marwah, GDC Thathri, GDC Thanamandi, GDC Basohli, GDC Billawar, GDC Bani, GDC Ramnagar beside number of degree colleges are running with one or few permanent faculty members. Instead of paying heed towards these colleges, Higher Education department today issued Government order number 138-HE of 2016, dated 29/3/2016, according to which a total of 12 Assistant/Associate Professors of English subject were transferred, out of which two are transferred within Jammu city premises.
Ritu Magotra has been transferred from GDC Gandhi Nagar to Government College for Education Jammu, within a distance of three kilometers while as Shashi Prabha has been transferred from GC of Education to GDC Paloura, which is presently, running from old campus of Jammu University, within a distance of not more than one kilometer.
The other faculty members who have been transferred from one overstaffed college to other are, Aksa, who has been transferred from GC of Education to GDC Bishnah, which is nearly 25 kilometers while Suman Charak from GDC Bishnah to GC of Education.
Pooja Devi has been transferred from GDC Paloura to GDC Samba, which is nearly 40 kilometers besides Anupama Kumari from GDC Samba to GDC RS Pura, which is more than 65 kilometers.
Fahmeda Bano from GDC Sopore to GDC Baramulla, which is nearly 15 kilometers, Gh. Mohi-ud-din from GDC Bijbehara to GDC PUlwana which is nearly 25 kilometers.
Syed Laila Khalid from GDC Tral to GDC Pampore and Ishaq Ahmad Wani from GDC Pampore to GDC Tral, which are only 25 kilometers, while Shabir Hussain Mirza from GDC Women MA Road to GDC Tangmarg, which is 30 kilometers in distance.
Raising finger over the transfer order, an Assistant Professor pleading anonymity said that many of them have been serving in peripheries for more than six years whereas hundreds of influential professors have been enjoying stay in city colleges for years ranging from 5 to 30 years and were the beneficiaries of transfer industry. "It seems that writ of transfer industry players is still running large in Higher Education department", he alleged. |
