| Early Times Report
DODA, Mar 29 : Near about 7000 people of Dessa, Bemina, Magni and adjoining areas of Doda district are facing acute shortage of ration due to the blockade of the road linking Dessa at many points due to landslides for the last six days. Snapping of road connectivity is adding to their miseries as ration is not reaching them on time. "Shops are running dry and ration is not reaching people on time. Even for a kilogram of onion, we are dependent on the opening of the Dessa Doda internal roads. If the bad weather continues, the stock dumped at local stores will end and we will be totally dependent on government ration," said Badri Nath and others adding that due to land sliding an stone shooting on road the worst suffers are patients of the area. There is also acute shortage of petroleum products, life-saving drugs and other essential commodities, they informed and urged the state government to restore the roads on a war footing so that they can easily shift their patients to Doda and also make ration available in the area. |
