SASJ demands cabinet berth for MLC 'Khalsa' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 29: Sikh Awareness Society Jammu demanded from BJP a cabinet berth for Charanjeet Singh Khalsa who is an MLC in state upper house and a people friendly leader of the community and hoped that PDP will also take forward step to include a Sikh Minister from PDP quota to restore the confidence of Sikhs. Addressing media persons Dr Bhupinder Singh (Retd Director Animal Husbandry Deptt) said that Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir are deprived of their political right in the previous BJP PDP- coalition Govt whcih was in existence for last 10 months. Again New govt is likely to be formed in next couple of days and there is apprehension that the Sikh community is again likely to be ignored as per the ground practice of both the parties. "We the Sikhs community has sacrificed a lot for the unity and integrity of State during 1947 turmoil and till date. The Issues have been taken with higher officials of the government as well as the politicians but still remain unresolved due to the non representation of Sikhs in State cabinet since a decade. Among those who were present on the occasion were Manmohan Singh Chairman Gurdwara Sabha Singh Gol Gujral, Harbans Singh, Mohan Singh, Charanjeet Singh and others. |
