No shutdown, chalo call against Tral woman's killing
Double Standards!
3/31/2016 11:55:42 PM
ET Report
JAMMU, Mar 31: In yet another brutal act, terrorists shot dead a 50-year old woman in south Kashmir's Tral area on Wednesday evening. However, the killing failed to move the separatists, who otherwise wait to give a shutdown and chalo call, and instigate people to hit the streets to vitiate peace.
Officials said the terrorists barged into the house of Hameeda Bano, 50, wife of Ghulam Hassan Dar at her residence in Noorpora and shot her dead when she was alone in the house. Her son, according to the officials, had gone to nearby mosque to offer prayers.
Separatists, who claim to be the human rights champions and leave no stone unturned to protest against any killing maintained silence over Bano's killing and refrained from even condemning the killing, nor did any of the so called separatist leaders visit Tral to express solidarity with Bano's family. Had Bano been killed by the security forces separatists would have made a beeline at Tral and would have tried their best to instigate youth to attack the security force personnel with stones.
"Whenever anyone is killed in forces action separatists don't even wait for an hour to react and join the race to call for shutdown and instigate youth to hit the streets and resort to stone pelting," said an analyst.
He said, "They do so to disturb the normal life as they get paid for it from the other side. They know trouble in Kashmir appeases their bosses sitting across the Line of Control."
A Kashmir watcher said, "Someone needs to ask the separatists why didn't they condemn the killing of a woman. Is she not the daughter of Kashmir? They (separatists) raise hue and cry when they know it would benefit them. They know this time if they open their month they would come on the radar of terrorists and they could end up in trouble."
Separatists by choosing to remain silent over Bano's killing have proved that they have double standards. "They stand exposed before the people and it has been proven beyond the doubt that they are the stooges, who are controlled by ISI," the analyst added.
Woman's killing, according to the reports, has created panic in Tral area and has left people terrified. A police official while talking to Early Times said, "In the past few months terrorists have suffered major blows in Tral and adjoining areas. They stand frustrated and are on the run. Terrorists killed an innocent woman to just make their presence felt."
He said, "Terrorists have been threatening people by pasting posters and sending their agents door to door. A case has been registered in this regard and very soon killers would be booked."
