RSS, BJP do U-turn on Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan | Saving PDP-BJP coalition | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 31: Notwithstanding the difference between the PDP and the local BJP leadership over power-sharing formula as suggested by the former, the RSS and the BJP, the two most perverted organizations in the world, are trying their best to save the coalition. Knowing it full well that their insistence on Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan could upset the coalition or their applecart in J&K, both the RSS and the BJP have done a U-turn on the Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan and said that it is for the people to chant or not to chant this slogan and that they will not force the unwilling people to chant this slogan. First it was the RSS which ate its words in a most shameless manner and since the RSS did it, the BJP also took no time to become an object of ridicule and contempt across the country by doing a U-turn on this slogan. Amid a raging row over chanting "Bharat Mata Ki Jai", RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said nobody needs to be forced to raise it and that efforts should be made to build a "great" India that is hailed across the globe voluntarily. "We have to create such a great India where people themselves chant 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'...It need not be imposed," Bhagwat said. Earlier, he had taken the other stand and declared that everyone in India must chant the Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan and virtually threatened that a campaign against those no agreeing to his suggestion. If the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat made a fool of himself by eating his words, BJP national president Amit Shah also didn't lag behind. In fact, he went a step further a day later in Kolkata and virtually told the people of country that the BJP committed a mistake by adopting a resolution on the Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan during its March national executive meeting in Delhi. The BJP's resolution had termed those against chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan as anti-nationals and had warned that those who would refuse to chant this slogan could be brought to justice. Political observers opine that "both the RSS and the BJP did U-turn only to save the crumbling PDP-BJP coalition in the State". There are reasons to share this view. For, Kashmir is a different ball game and the RSS and the BJP, which want the PDP-BJP alliance to remain intact and form Government at the earliest, knew the implications of their insistence on raising Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan and hence, a shameful U-turn. Interestingly, the U-turn of the RSS and the BJP has given a long stick to the Shiv Sena to beat both the outfits from right and left and ridicule them and their ideology. The Shiv Sena has been asking the RSS and the BJP to make the PDP leadership chant the Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogan before both the PDP and the BJP assumed office for the second time. |
