jammu, Apr 7: Governor N.N. Vohra, who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, while reviewing the ongoing Advance Registration of Yatris for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2016 with P.K. Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer, and Jitendra Singh, Additional Chief Executive Officer, was informed that the number of intending pilgrims who have sought Advance Registration has crossed the one lakh mark. This registration is being done through the 432 bank branches of Punjab National Bank, J&K Bank and YES Bank which are spread over 32 States and UTs. This year's 48 day long Yatra will commence on 2nd July 2016 and conclude on 18th August 2016, on the day of Raksha Bandhan. Tripathi also informed that 7, 500 Yatris per day are permitted to undertake the Yatra along each of the two routes, via Baltal and Pahalgam. The list of bank branches which have been authorized to undertake Advance Registration of Yatris is available on Shrine Board's web site www. shriamarnathjishrine.com. The procedure for securing Advance Registration, Group Registration and Registration of ex- India pilgrims is also available on the Shrine Board's website.
CEO has once again appealed to all the intending Yatris to obtain Advance Registration to avoid inconvenience in undertaking the Yatra and stressed the need to obtain Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) from the authorized Government Doctors or the designated Medical Institutes in the States. The state wise list of doctors who are authorized to issue Health Certificates is also available on Shrine Board's website: www. shriamarnathjishrine.com.
Considering the arduous nature of the Yatra and the difficult terrain and climatic conditions, the CEO has urged the intending Yatris to strictly follow the Do's and Dont's and Health Advisory available on the website before embarking on the Yatra. The Shrine Board has got the DO's and DONT's printed in the shape of a pocket booklet which is being given to each of the pilgrims who register for Yatra 2016 through the various Banks.
