| JU VC's advice to NIT students finds no takers | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 7: The advice of Vice Chancellor University of Jammu to non-local students to be cool and calm despite being brutally beaten by local police seems his sympathy for local students who are hell bent to vatiate the peaceful atmosphere of National Institute of Technology by raising anti India slogans to establish their hegemony and terror at the cost of non local students in NIT Srinagar.
As per the advice given to non local students of NIT Srinagar grappling for security and safety on the Facebook wall conveys that "non local students studying in Institute must act in much matured way in their own interest and the interest of Nation and also they can win the local students with love and affection". Given the prevailing hostile circumstances against non local students in NIT Srinagar, the uncalled for advice of Vice Chancellor to frightened students is fraught with ill will and affront to genuinely aggrieved outside students to sprinkle salt on the wounds of innocent students, an activist of students said.
The sources said that rather VC needs an advice to desist from feigning ignorance and must update himself about sequence of events in NIT Srinagar before floating his advice in Facebook wall designed to belittle the moral of non local students who were subjected to terror and atrocious actions both by local students and local police with VC taking side of perpetrators of atrocities on innocent students whose fault lied in demonstration of nationalism following defeat of Indian Cricket team, one of the youth leaders further said that how an ill-conceived advice of VC can be taken seriously by students fraternity who is following the policies inimical to the interests of students' community and playing obnoxious politics of divide and rule creating wedge amongst the students of varsity to carry on his wrong acts.
When Govt of India is worried about the safety and moral boosting of these students living under stress and strain with team of HRD Ministry rushed to Srinagar to ensure protection of students, the Vice Chancellor Jammu University is entertaining himself by floating odd statement in social network to discourage the non local students, sources said, adding that he should focus on improving the sagging image of varsity and follow a yard stick devoid of discrimination. |
