Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 7: The industrialists here have nowadays attached all their hopes with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) to take up with the government the issue of encouraging local industry. In a communiqué addressed to CCI president by M/s Metro Hydro Engineer, SIDCO Samba, it was requested to take up the issue with the government and the concerned departments. The company said being the authorised manufacturers of solar lanterns, solar street lights, LED lamps and panels, they participated in the tendering process. "Though they had the legitimate claim, the tender was allotted to a company which operates from Noida," the communication said. The communication says: "Kindly find enclosed herewith the representations made to the concerned departments for cancellation of the tenders called by Chief Engineer of P&MM for the products mentioned above. The supply of Self Blast LED lights was given to Energy Efficiency Services Ltd, Noida." "None of the branded companies have in-house production. There is mushroom growth of employment & industry in limited zone of NOIDA & Delhi which we think as per the current situation is quite injustice with local industries which may see a bleak future. Since ours is a Self Blast LED lights manufacturing unit and qualifies all technical specifications as set by Bureau of Industrial Standards and our products are tested from BIS approved and NABL accredited Laboratory," the communication adds. Meanwhile, CCI president Rakesh Gupta, when contacted, admitted of having received such communication, saying it must be the duty of the government to promote local industries for the betterment of people of state. He said that local industries must get their due share. |
