Lal's loyals seek Bhagat's blessing, transfer industry likely to go | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 7: The wheels of infamous transfer industry in Health and Medical Education department are likely to be jammed soon, as new Minister has directed department to stop transfers till further order. Moreover, some aides of former Minister have started to shift their loyalty towards the new Minister. Sources told Early Times that Health and Medical Education Minister, Bali Bhagat would formally assume office on first Navratri to begin overhaul of the department. "The Minister has called a high level meeting of officers and heads of various hospitals on Friday at civil Secretariat", said sources, adding that to overhaul the department the Minister would fix targets for heads of their respective intuitions. "No transfers in the department will take place in health and Medical Education Department till further order, and it has been conveyed Commissioner Secretary by the Minister telephonically this afternoon", sources informed and added for vested interests in past doctors as well as other staff in the department had been victimized by a particular lobby in the department. They further said that concerned over deteriorated condition of Government hospitals Bali Bhagat in introductory as well as ultimatum meet, scheduled on tomorrow would fix targets for heads of various health institutions. "The Health Minister was disappointed during his late Wednesday night surprised visit at GMC hospital, where people were crying for even basic needs, like water, electricity, fluid and non-availability of doctors", they said, and added in an attempt to streamline derailed health system in State the Minister would give target to all the concerned people. In few cases two doctors appointed against one post", they added. It is pertinent to mention here that elevators were defunct and no drinking water was available in the wards. |
