No action for hoisting Pak flags; thrashing for raising tricolor
4/8/2016 12:45:34 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 7: Hapless non-local students of NIT Srinagar had to face the wrath of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the local students for hoisting tricolor and raising pro-India slogans. They were beaten mauled and labeled as "miscreants" for expressing their love for their motherland and supporting team India.
"It seems India is the only country where its denizens are beaten for hoisting their own flag. On the other hand separatists and their associates who hoist Pakistan and ISI flags and raise anti-India slogans roam scot free and are not even touched," said an analyst.
He said, "Irony is that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. A few pro-Pakistan agents have vitiated the atmosphere in Kashmir and are busy in preaching secessionism. They have been doing it at the behest of Pakistan for the past 25-years and are a threat to peace. Law enforcing agencies are well aware about the nefarious designs of these elements but they have been left off the hook."
A Kashmir watcher while talking to Early Times said, "Separatists, who leave no chance to preach hatred against India enjoy all the privileges and live in palatial houses. They have no known source of income but they still manage to move around in luxury cars and have been provided security by the State."
He said, "These separatists are responsible for polarizing the environment and poisoning the minds of Kashmiri youth whom they first made to pick up the arms and now the same youth are being asked to attack the security forces and the nationalist people in Kashmir with stones."
"The set of so-called leaders who preach secessionism has remained unchanged but they have managed to send thousands of Kashmiri youth to graves and graveyards in every nook and corner of Kashmir are their gift to Kashmiris," he added.
An analyst said, "India is a democratic country which believes in freedom of speech that's why the nonsense of separatists is tolerated and they are allowed to live here. Had they been the citizens of any other country they would have been declared as traitors and booked. The NIT incident should serve as an eye opener for all the nationalist forces and they should cut across the party lines to ensure that no one stops nationalist non-locals and nationalist Kashmiris from hoisting the tricolor and raising pro-India slogans. JK Police needs to bear it in mind that it cannot go on a beating spree without a reason. It's the fundamental right of every Indian citizen to hoist a national flag and praise his mother land."
"The time has come to act against the people who preach Pakistan and Azadi. Either they should be put behind the bars or they should be deported to Pakistan or any other country. State and Central Governments need to act tough and take a stand that anti-nationals and secessionists won't be tolerated," said a politician.
