Marwah gets mobile phone connectivity | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Early Times Report Kishtwar, Apr 7: Much to the delight of people of Marwah valley BSNL Tower at village Nawapachi started emitting the mobile signals on Wednesday. Population of 20000 was on cloud nine as soon as they discovered mobile signals on their handsets. As per the details available with "Early Times," large number of people assembled at Marwah Sub Division Headquarter Nawapachi and celebrated the successful start of mobile tower which was under construction since last nearly 6 years and finally after lot of hardship due to non availability of road and electricity in the area, the tower was finally commissioned today. The locals informed "Early Times" that it was due to efforts of former Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hussain Malik that Indian Air Force airlifted mobile tower machinery which helped the BSNL to install the tower at Nawapachi Marwah and Inshan Warwan. They expressed gratitude to MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo who as an MLA donated Rs. 10 lacs out of his CDF for purchasing Generator sets so that towers could be made functional as Marwah area has no electricity. They said that they are hopeful that mobile tower will function in a better way and will not be a failure like Inshan mobile tower which remained off for most of the time due to some technical fault. They said that they are hopeful that soon the people of Marwah will get road and electricity and their hardships will come to an end. Those who hailed the launching of mobile services at Marwah include Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, Ghulam Rasool Lone, Fareed Ahmad Sheikh, Mohammad Ramzan Malik, Ghulam Mohammad Malik, Nazir Ahmad lone, Ghulam Mustafa Sheikh, Abdul Razaaq, Mohammad Shafi Malik and social activist Abdul Rashid Magrey. |
