PHE CP workers, ITI trained stage protest rally, demand regularization | 72 hours' ultimatum to government | | Early Times Report Kathua, Apr 7: PHE Daily wagers including ITI Trained, CP workers and need based workers today organized a massive protest rally which commenced from Lakhanpur and culminated at Kathua. According to press release, hundreds of workers held rally in half-naked body and chanting the slogan 'Down Down JK government, Down Down PHE Department". The protest rally was organized under the leadership of Tanveer Hussain, President of the association. Pertinently, PHE workers have been on strike for last 25 days in the office of Chief Engineer Office PHE Jammu and also continuously holding protest at district level but no action has been taken to redress their demands. They demanded for regularization of their services that engaged from 1994 to till date and released of pending wages. While addressing protesters, Tanveer Hussain said that if incumbent government has failed to frame to frame policy for their regularization as per ReT then they will be compelled to launch statewide stike. Tanveer said despite assurance given by last 7-8 month back by Finance Minister & PHE minister that their demands would be solved within three months but till date no further action has been taken in this regard. |
