Poonch, Apr 7: The proverb Goose laying golden eggs ' stands fit for the 21 km long Mendhar - Surankote road for Public works Department R&B Sub Division Mendhar as the road is being repaired every year on papers where as on ground no repairing work takes place alleged sources.
Laksh of rupees have been withdrawn from government exchequer annually for the repairing of this road but never it was even black topped said a local contractor Sita Ram who is also naib Sarpanch of Ari. Drainage system of the road is nowhere in sight nor any officer from the department visits this road and for the last 10 years one and only Juinor engineer is at the helm of the affairs, Sita ram further said.
The sources said that the Pwd R&B Subdivision Mendhar has become a hub of Corruption and there were so many other roads for which funds were being withdrawn on fake bills having an unholy nexus between the officials and the contractors to loot the state exchequers with both hands. The unblack tooped 21 Km long road has loose pabblles at many places on it surface and when a vehicle ply on it these pabbles come out of the tyres of these vehicles with force and if it hits someone he will be wounded seriously said a local living on the bank of this road.
Meanwhile locals have appealed to concerned Minister to order an inquiry into the matter as in entire district of Poonch the performance of PWD R&B is shabby. |
