| JKWDC proposes, ZEO disposes over 'loan defaulting cases' | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Apr 7: The Zonal Education Officers (ZEO) Khawas and Piri zones in Rajouri district have allegedly not implemented the directions/notices issued through the officials of J&K Women's Development Corporation (JKWDC) to withhold the salaries of some teachers who stood guarantor against the loans to some unemployed women beneficiaries who turned defaulters.
Sources said, "Whether the ZEOs deliberately ignored the request for their vested interests or they forget to implement it is a matter of investigation however, the Managing Director JKWDC has now approached the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri to intervene in this matter."
Ch Altaf Hussain under his office order on April 1, has directed both the Zonal Education officers (ZEOs) to stop the salaries of four teachers working under their jurisdictions.
Pertinent to mention here that four women namely Noor Jan w/o Mohd Suleman, Noor Jan w/o Mohf Farooq , Razia Begam w/o Muneer Hussain all resident of village Badhal under Khawas education Zone and Alam Bi w/o Mohd Rashid resident of Khandali under Piri Education Zone had taken loan from JKWDC for generating income units."
"And four teachers namely Mohd AslaM s/o Mohd Alam, Rajesh Kumar s/o Sita Ram, Mohd Shakeel s/o Mohd Israil all resident of Badfhal and Mohd Qasim s/o Mohd Aziz r/o Barsala stood as guarantor to the beneficiaries respectively, sources said.
They added that the women beneficiaries failed to return their respective loans i.e. Rs 33432/-, Rs 93446/-, Rs 86944/- and Rs 60728/- stood outstanding against them respectively, Manager, Kotranka branch of JKWDC vide his office legal notices Nos BMK/JKWDC/LN9/G/D/Rjr/2015 dt 24/9/15 & BMK/JKWDC/LN3/G/D/2015 dt 15/12/15 had requested the ZEOs to withheld the salaries of the aforesaid guarantor/teachers. "However both the ZEOs had failed to implement the legal notice served by the Manager , JKWDC, Kotranka branch," sources added. JKWDC was incorporated in the year 1991 as State Chanellising Agency and started functioning w.e.f. 1994, to implementing a number of Developmental Schemes of State as well as Union Government for Socio- Economic Upliftment of women living Below Poverty Line (BPL) & women belonging to minorities, backward & other classes. |
