Two bovine smuggling bids foiled, three held | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Apr 7: Udhampur Police today claimed to have foiled two attempts of bovine smuggling with the arrest of three bovine smugglers besides rescuing 06 bovine animals and seizures of vehicles at during naka checking at Roun Domal and Chenani National Highway in Udhampur district. Based on reliable information, Police said, "a Police party of Police Station Chenani led by Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SHO Police Station Chenani laid a surprise naka near Domil Chenani National Highway and intercepted one TATA 207 (JK02BD-5607). "Police seized the vehicle and rescued four bovine animals when the bovine smugglers namely driver Shkil Ahmed s/o Jan Mohd of Kajikund Kashmir failed to prove relevant documents to transport the animals and was arrested on spot, police said. In this connection, a case FIR No. 34/16 u/s 188/RPC, 3 PCA stands registered against accused at Police Station Chenani and further investigations are on.. Similarly, in another incident, a Police party of Police Station Majalta laid a surprise naka at near Battal Morh intercepted two persons namely Mohmed Nazeer s/o Mohmed Shukrdin and Mohmed Gani s/o Jamal Din of Bali Nallha Udhampur who were on their way towards Kashmir on foot alongwith animals. "During questioning they also failed to provide documents for inter district transportation and thus were arrested on the spot, police added A case under FIR No 17/16 u/s 188/RPC, 3 PCA stands registered in Police Station Majalta and further investigations are on. |
