Early Times Report
Mendhar, May 4: Public Works Department (PWD) undertook the work of construction of ambitious project i.e. Rs 14 Crore Mini Secretariat Complex in Mendhar in 2007 but after almost nine years the complex yet has to see the dawn courtesy work on snail's pace. Locals lamented that over than nine years time has been elapsed yet the complex yet has not been completed courtesy 'incompetence' of the concerned department. Meanwhile a bigger chunk of locals observed this not only incompetence of the concerned department but also the negligent attitude of the successive government which have doled a step motherly treatment towards the people of Mendhar by delaying various developmental works. They maintained that this complex - Mini Secretariat is of great significance to the residents of Mendhar tehsil because large number of offices can come under one roof giving respite to the people who have to move to Poonch or the capital cities i.e. Jammu or the Srinagar to get their official works done. A local Mohd Aslam said, "I am watching work going on this complex for the last nine years and often get surprised why the work yet has not been completed, Residents like Mohd Aslam, said that Government needs to expedite the work on this project keeping in view the problems of the people of area. They alleged that Mendhar has been ignored from developmental point of view and such a delay in government project is an indicator to substantiate that people in Mendhar are continuously witnessing step motherly treatment at the hands of state government. Locals maintained as per officials records over Rs 7 Crore has been spent on the construction work of said project and work is yet to complete and further appealed to present regime to get the complex to be completed as early as possible. |
