Nepotism rules the roost in Edu deptt | | | Early Times Report jammu, May 5: It seems the high claimed reforms under 'transfer mela' to meet the requirement of teachers in various schools has fallen flat courtesy alleged mess in Jammu and Kashmir Education Department where favouritism, nepotism and above all political and bureaucratic pressure are not only adding to suffering of poor school going children but also are making mockery of rules and norms. According to sources in education department, the Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ), under order no. 967 DSEJ of 2016 dated 08/03/2016 has transferred 67 masters and also gave approval to the Chief CEO Reasi and under order no CEO/Rsi/Estt/E-2/18911-14 dated 11-03-2016 104 teachers were transferred (all falling under winter zone) under transfer mela in Reasi district. However, just after nine days the Director School Education Jammu had given approval to the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Reasi, Vinod Kumar Soni and under order no CEO/Rsi/Esstt/E-2/19517-19 transfer order of eleven masters were modified while under order no CEO/Rsi/Esstt/E-2/18911-14 dated 11-03-2016 transfer order of seventeen teachers were modified. The transfer orders of teachers were modified under Medical case. As per the rules in transfer mela, all the eligible employees have to submit a format in which he has to give three choices for his new place of posting and if all the 67 masters have given their three options of choice posting then what made the director to modify the order further within nine days Sources further claimed that employees under medical grounds already kept out of this transfer policy and their transfer only made after opinion of medical board constituted through proper channel. Sources maintained that if the teachers whose transfer orders were modified have medical grounds then why they were transferred under transfer mela. The story does not end here, out of 67 masters, eight master were transferred to summer zone which is clear cut violation of transfer mela. Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has recently pulled up Education Department for not strictly adhering to the Transfer Policy and making modifications and attachments under bureaucratic and political pressure. She has categorically told the officers of the department that further complaints in this regard would be viewed very seriously but it seems that the Director School Education Jammu has shown her thumb down. |
