Death of child in private clinic triggers protests in Doda | Parents allege medical negligence | |  Early Times Report
doda, May 5: Death of a female child sparked protests in Doda town , after which authorities suspended a consultant pediatrician posted in District Hospital, Doda . Eyewitness told that parents of one and half year female child brought her to a private clinic for treatment but the relatives and family members accused the doctors of negligence. The family members and other people assembled outside the hospital and staged a noisy protest demonstration demanding action against the "erring doctors". Protesting people and relatives alleged that doctor administered an injection to child which became cause of her death. Later protesters were pacified by the senior officers from civil and police administration. Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Kulbhushan Singh Kotwal ' suspended doctor identified as Dr Rattan Singh Manhas and initiated an inquiry. "We started an inquiry besides placing doctor Manhas under suspension," Chief Medical Officer Doda said. Many Doda based organisations sharply reacted over the death of child. "We strongly condemn the incident of alleged medical negligence and demand strict action" Bhaderwah Bhlessa Charalla Development Front President Hafizul Bashir Wani said while appreciating the step taken by state government led by Health Minister and CMO Doda to suspend the doctor and demanded closure of all private clinics functioning in Chenab valley. |
