| Black topping of manholes irks Udhampur people | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, May 5: The people of Udhampur have expressed concern over the blacktopping of covers of manholes.
Locals of main Bazar Udhampur including Bharat Chowdhary, Ram Lal, Sahil and others told Early Times that there is very possibility of problems during cleaning the blocked drains from such holes as the lid over them is not seen because same has been buried beneath the coal-tar.
They also said that bumps were formed at places where these lids are covered by the coal-tar due to which symmetry of the road is disturbed and this may lead to a mishap in the night times.
The aggrieved locals said that it has been a routine from the concerning authorities whenever the black topping of the roads has been revised and the authorities use to wait for the incidents to happen else then they remain in deep slumber. They said that many accidents have occurred before but that too was not enough to open the eyes of the department.
The locals said that the main town of the city and central places of the town is in the worst condition.
They threatened to come on streets and roads if the problems are not resolved soon. When contacted Executive Engineer PWD, Rajesh Gupta assured that the problem will be sorted out soon
one day after early times impact shown on the ground level and work will be started for covering all the manholes of the main bazzar road udhampur and the peoples of udhampur specialily main bazaar thanks to the early times for highlighted the problems of their related man holes and result will shown emmidatley on the ground level. |
