Early Times Report SAMBA, May 08: A man, who was clandestinely carrying a 1 kg gold brick and jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh in a Video Coach, has been apprehended by Ghagwal police. He was travelling from Delhi to Jammu in a Video Coach belonging to Cool Cool Travels when, acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Inspector Suraj Pathania, SHO of Ghagwal police station, stopped the bus at a naka, according to police sources. During checking, a bag, which contained a 1 kg gold brick and jewellery, was recovered from the possession of a person who was travelling in the video coach, sources informed. Sources identified the accused as Bodh Raj, son of Chajju Ram of R S Pura. The seized gold items were valued at Rs 40 lakh. Since the case pertained to evasion of tax, the consignment was handed over to commercial taxation officers, Lakhanpur, for necessary action in the case, sources said. |
